We are looking for a carpenter to create a large wooden sculpture in the Joutsa area, in April 2026. The carpenter can either live in the Joutsa area, or create the work in residence, at Haihatus. Etsimme iranilaisen matonkutomisen osaajaa Jyväskylästä avustamaan iranilaisen perinnematon kutomistyön aloittamisessa alkuperäistä vastaavilla työkaluilla ja pystykangaspuilla. We are looking for an instructor for five cross-stitch workshops to be held in Jyväskylä, February 9th-13th (week 7) who can assist with embroidery/cross-stitching. Each workshop lasts two hours and are held every weekday in the afternoon (between 12 and 6pm). We hope that the instructor will be able to help out with the basics of embroidery/cross stitch, to help people with very different skill and experience levels. The Aw/oT staff will also be involved in the workshops to help guide and assist. The instructor will be paid for their work. The workshops are part of artist Hala Alnaji's Stitch & Subvert Jyväskylä artwork.

Etsimme kaksiosaiseen elokuvaan suomalaista noin 25–40 -vuotiasta naisesiintyjää ja hänen kotiaan. Esiintyjällä ei tarvitse olla aiempaa esiintymiskokemusta, sillä elokuvassa kuvataan henkilön arjen eloa hänen kotiympäristössään.
Teoskokonaisuus tulee osaksi iranilaisen elokuvantekijä Vajid Aminin kaksiosaista videoteosta, jonka toinen osa on kuvattu Iranissa keväällä 2025. Iranissa kuvatussa osassa seurataan iranilaisen naishenkilön arkea hänen kodissaan (kuva alla). Suomessa kuvattavassa osassa tehdään vastaavanlainen kuvaus suomalaisessa kodissa. Kuvauspaikkana on kodin olohuone sekä taustalla näkyvä keittiö.

We are looking for a female character and a home environment for the film
We are looking for a Finnish female performer aged around 25–40 for the second part of a two-part film. The performer does not need to have previous performance experience, as the film records the person's normal, everyday life in their home environment.
The work is a two-part video work by Iranian film maker Vajid Amin, the first part of which was filmed in Iran (February 2025). The part filmed in Iran, follows the everyday life of an Iranian female character in her home. The part filmed in Finland, will be filmed in a similar way, but with a Finnish woman, in a Finnish home. The filming location is in the living room of the home with the kitchen, preferably visible in the background.
The performer lives her typical everyday life in the film (reading, watching TV, eating, doing housework, and so on). The everyday life will be filmed for a minimum of 24 hours and maximum of 3 days. A film will be made from the filmed material, which will be shown alongside the Iranian film. The camera will be set up in one location, that will not move for the duration of the filming process. There is no film crew in the space, the camera will independently record the room and everything happening in it, from that one point in the living room.
The performer will be paid a performance fee and compensation will also be paid for the use of the space.

We are looking for a living room!
We are looking for a living room for the presentation of a work by Korean performance artist Sujin Lee in Jyväskylä, September-October 2025. The duration of the performance will be (maximum) 30 minutes and it will be performed in a private living room, in Jyväskylä. The performance will be performed by two live performers, 1–2 times. The performance time and date will be agreed in more detail together with the owners of the space, the artist and the performers.
The living room should accommodate an audience of about 15 people (minimum 10 and maximum 20), as well as performers and technicians (3 persons). A fast internet connection in the space is a plus. The living room should be located in the Jyväskylä area. The owners of the living room are welcome to attend the performance.
Compensation for the use of the living room will be paid to the owner of the space. Art without Transportation will organize everything related to the performance.
You can apply to offer your own living room for this performance at [email protected]. When registering, we would like to receive a few pictures of the space along with some basic information (size, location, accessibility etc.). We are also happy to answer any questions. We are looking for an AV technician specialising in sound and lighting to oversee the production of a long distance performance by Korean performance artist Sujin Lee in Jyväskylä in September-October 2025. The duration of the performance will be approximately 30 minutes, and it will be carried out in an intimate home-like environment. There will be a maximum of two performances.
Two on-site performers and the artist (participating from South Korea) will participate in the performance with an internet connection.
The sound and lighting technician will participate in the planning and practical execution of the work.
A fair fee for this work will be paid as agreed to by the technician and Aw/oT.

We are looking for two performers (not professional actors) to perform a work by Korean video and performance artist Suljin Lee in Jyväskylä in September-October 2025. The performance will last a maximum of 30 minutes and will be performed once to an audience of approximately 20 people. The artist will participate in the performance of the work remotely. The performance will be documented.
Etsimme kahta esiintyjää (ei ammattinäyttelijöitä) korealaisen video- ja performanssitaiteilija Suljin Leen teoksen toteutukseen Jyväskylässä syys-lokakuussa 2025. Art without Transportation etsii muusikoita soittamaan nuoteista hymnejä ja muita propagandalauluja eri puolilta maailmaa. Musiikki soitetaan galleriaympäristössä osana taiteilija Riiko Sakkisen ja säveltäjä Erkki Veltheimin Propaganda Playbook -näyttelyä. Elävä musiikki on osa Erkki Veltheimin teosta Propaganda Playbook -näyttelyyn. Näyttelyssä on esillä poliitikkojen muotokuvia ja se sisältää myös ennalta tallennetun, jatkuvan äänimaiseman.
Muusikko voi ilmoittautua soittamaan 30 minuutin jaksoissa.

- The exhibition is open from January 20th - 26th inclusive.
- Playing times begin on the hour between 11am and 6pm (other times can possibly be negotiated).
- We will take up to maximum 3 musicians/day (total 21 max.).
- Sheet music, a chair and a music stand will be provided.
- All instruments and levels of playing are welcome.
- The musician must be able to read sheet music.
- The quality of playing is not expected to be polished.
- The musician must bring their instrument and commit to playing 30 minutes.
- Musicians will receive a 50 euro performance fee.
- The musicians’ playing will not be recorded unless otherwise negotiated.

Etsimme Jyväskylän alueella toimivia piirtäjiä Riiko Sakkisen teoskokonaisuuden toteutukseen. Etsimme tekijöitä, jotka pystyvät toteuttamaan tunnistettavan muotokuvan Riikon valitsemasta henkilöstä. Teoskokonaisuuden nimi on Propaganda Playbook, ja piirettävät muotokuvat ovat tunnettuja poliittisia johtajia ja diktaattoreita. We are looking for draw-ers working in the Jyväskylä area for the realization of Riiko Sakkinen's body of work Propaganda Playbook. We are looking for creators who can draw a recognizable portrait of a selection of politicians chosen by Riiko. The portraits will be renditions of well-known political leaders and dictators. The creator of the portrait does not need to be a professional artist themself, they can be an enthusiastic hobbyist, a cartoonist, a draftsman or an artist, as long as they are able to make a recognizable effigy of the given politicians. The portraits must be completed by January 18th, 2025 at the latest.
What we are looking for:
- the drawing must be made on A4 size paper (21 x 29.7cm) Vertical. The paper can be of any weight, quality and/or colour.
- any drawing or painting technique on paper is allowed.
- collage technique is not allowed (ex. not a cut-out picture of the person from a magazine).
- the portrait must be of the face or bust. The facial features must be recognizable.
- No caricature or exaggeration of features. A critical approach comes from the context. No clothes or accessories that are not typical for the person.
- No symbols or extra elements, no background decorations.
- The artist will be provided with the name of the person to be drawn, along a text that must appear in the picture (a quotation and the politician's name). These must be written clearly and easy to read.
- No frames or decorative outlines.
- The artist's signature must be written on the back of the picture, not on the front with the image.
32 drawers will be included in this project, each of whom will create one portrait according to the instructions above. The organizers have the right refuse an artwork for the exhibition if the above criteria are not met. The creators of the portraits are paid a small author's fee (50 eur).
All drawings will remain part of the body of work, Propaganda Playbook, which will be donated to a museum art collection. The names of all the draw-ers who participated in the creation of the Propaganda Playbook will appear in connection with the work as co-creators.
